On April 16th, 2020, the First Virtual Meeting of the partners of the project “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) was held, which is financially supported by the ENI CBC Programme Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020. Due to the quarantine in the partner countries, the working meeting was held by means of the video conference. The meeting was attended by representatives of all partner organisations of the project “MOBI” from Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. The meeting was initiated by Lead Beneficiary, International Association of Regional Development Institutions “IARDI”.
The project “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) is implemented by an international consortium, which includes regional self-government bodies and professional institutions, namely: International Association of Regional Development Institutions “IARDI” (Ukraine), Self-Government of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary), Košice self-governing region (Slovakia) , Maramureș County Council (Romania), Territorial Administrative Unit of Satu Mare County (Romania) and Road service in Zakarpattia oblast (Ukraine).
The aim of the project is: to create a sustainable platform for effective cross-border mobility of people and goods by improving transport and border infrastructure, strengthening cooperation between governments and professional organizations aimed at developing transport links in the border regions of Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. The project envisages the development of a joint Mobility Plan, which will include regional plans of each border region in the field of transport and border infrastructure, development of railway services, international air services, etc.
The main task of the working meeting was to discuss the Action Plan for the project, and to approve of the main communication tool for communication for effective cooperation in the future. During the Virtual Meeting, the current situation was discussed in order to start the implementation of the project tasks and to form an effective expert environment. The project coordinator Nataliya Nosa presented the project Action Plan. In addition, the templates of the visualization materials in accordance with the requirements the ENI CBC Programme Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 Communication and Visualization Rules were discussed.
During the discussions, the importance of synchronizing the actions of partners on both sides of the border and cooperation with other projects and initiatives implemented in various programs in the field of transport infrastructure was highlighted
The participants of the Virtual Meeting agreed to hold the next Virtual Meeting of the partners of the project “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) on May 20, 2020.
