On July 22th, 2020, the 4th Virtual Meeting of the partners of the project “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) implemented with the financial support of the ENI CBC Programme Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 was held.
The project “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) is implemented from March 1, 2020, by international consortium, which includes regional self-government bodies and professional institutions, namely: International Association of Regional Development Institutions “IARDI” (Ukraine), Self-Government of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary), Košice self-governing region (Slovakia) , Maramureș County Council (Romania), Territorial Administrative Unit of Satu Mare County (Romania) and Road service in Zakarpattia oblast (Ukraine).
The aim of the project is: to create a sustainable platform for effective cross-border mobility of people and goods by improving transport and border infrastructure, strengthening cooperation between governments and professional organizations aimed at developing transport links in the border regions of Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. The project envisages the development of a joint Mobility Plan, which will include regional plans of each border region in the field of transport and border infrastructure, development of railway transport services, international airlines services, etc.
The main task of the virtual meeting was to discuss the proposed by the project partners of details to the Mobility Plan according to national requirements, forming expert groups, to agree on the format of relevant documentation and set time schedule for its preparation. The participants of the meeting clarified implementation of project activities.
In addition, the communication measures related to the development and operation of the project website in accordance with the requirements of the guiding documents of the ENI CBC Program Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 were clarified.
The participants of the virtual meeting agreed to hold the next virtual meeting on the 26 of August 2020 and to agree the on-line format of the 1st Partnership Meeting “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) and hold it in November 2020. The format of the conference depends on the epidemiological situation in the border regions, with hopes for a better situation and the opening of borders. Besides, some modifications discussed regarding the necessity to install web=-cameras and on-line connection equipment for on-line events.
