On June 24, 2020, the 3d Virtual Meeting of the partners of the project “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) implemented with the financial support of the ENI CBC Programme Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 was held. The meeting was initiated by the Lead Beneficiary, International Association of Regional Development Institutions “IARDI”.
The project “Modern Border Infrastructure – Successful Carpathian Region” (MOBI) is implemented from March 1, 2020, by the International Consortium, which includes regional self-government bodies and professional institutions, namely: International Association of Regional Development Institutions “IARDI” (Ukraine), Self-Government of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary), Košice self-governing region (Slovakia) , Maramureș County Council (Romania), Territorial Administrative Unit of Satu Mare County (Romania) and Road service in Zakarpattia oblast (Ukraine).
The aim of the project is: to create a sustainable platform for effective cross-border mobility of people and goods by improving transport and border infrastructure, strengthening cooperation between governments and professional organizations aimed at developing transport links in the border regions of Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary. The project envisages the development of a joint Mobility Plan, which will include regional plans of each border region in the field of transport and border infrastructure, development of railway services, international air services, etc.
The main task of the working meeting was to discuss the structure of the Project Implementation Action Plan, to agree and amend the list of members of the project partner teams. In addition, each of the partners reviewed the measures taken. The previous structure of the Mobility Plan and certain aspects of the Communication Plan of the project in accordance with the requirements of the guiding documents of the ENI CBC Program Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020 were discussed. Discussions continued on the formation of expert groups in each region.
The participants of the Virtual meeting agreed to hold the next virtual meeting on July 22, 2020. The date and the format of the planned kick-off meeting depends on the epidemiological situation in the border regions, with hopes for a better situation and the opening of borders.
